"Below are
pictures from some carvings. The black bear is the last one I
finished When in Yuma Arizona last
winter I carved Ace pilot and Jethro at which time I tolk
lessons from
Phil and Vick Bishop
WWW.BISHOPWOODCARVING.COM. And also highpockets and
cody, lessond from Jon and Donna Nelso at WWW.JONNELSONWOODCARVING.COM The horse was carved at Yuma
seniors center (downtown) lessons with Shorty who is from
Ely Minnesota.
The
rest of the carvings were done since I got back. The golfer was
carved in resemblence of a friend I meet in Yuma so I named
it after him.

"Here are some pictures of carving I have been doing over the last winter in Texas, except for the fire truck which was previously done for my son who is a fireman. This picture was downloaded and placed on my 51" wide screen to add the effects. I also carved him a fireman's boot. The small baby boot was sent to our daughter who is expecting here first in August. I thought all the work boots looked good in a box. We also took lessons in Texas on cotton wood carving, relief carving and characters as shown."

"This Hummer took 3 months to build The plans were shrunk down 25 percent to make it a displayable size."

"This is a new project I just finished - a 1930 Duesenburg made from different woods.

The body is Balsa
wood trim, purple heart, walnut, and the seats are aeromatic
cedar. Each tire was hand made
with dowling sanded to almost tooth pick size for spokes and
whitewalls added.
The
base is cherrywood."

"This Christmas wreath has 172 pieces made of light cedar. The birds are supposed to be cut from different woods but there was to many small cuts, so it was easier to make them from the same wood and stain them. Each leaf was layered to the grain and dremeled in the centre to give it a 3D look. It took approximately 50 hours to complete."

"The Potato and Onion box were made also as Christmas gifts. I used a stick-on decal on the first the left and then hand painted the one on the right."

"The bird houses were made from one by 6, cut to 3/4" stips before being passed thought a router. Some stips were stained first as in the red house. These are also to be Christmas gifts. I made 4."

"Golf cart, business card holder - Two golf bags, each containing four clubs, 3 irons and 1 wood base is floct. green. Each took about 14 hours to make, the hardest part being the clubs since I just started golfing at (56) thought this would be fun to make."

"1929 Ford Roadster with rumble seat. This car is made with birch running boards and walnut body with airomatic seats front and back. This took about 35 hours to make."

"1934 Chevy coup. This was fun to make, I think most of the time was taken up cutting the doors and makeing the hinges. The trunk also opens up."

"Lotus design Jewelry Box (bandsaw box) This is made from layers of Red Gum. The drawers are floct. green. This project was started last year and just finished. It will be a gift for one of my granddaughters (triplets 2 girls & a boy) when they reach 14,,, ten years from now."

"Miniature
Rocking horse.
These made
great Christmas gifts.
(I made a dozen) Each is made of different woods and has
it's own name."

"Willow the Rocking Horse. This was made for my grandchildren (4 year old triplets) The rockers are made from birch. The body is made from Willow, and the Saddle and Stirrups are made from Walnut. I used a Yacht mop for the hair.
This took many hours of work, and should last a lifetime as a family heirloom."

"School Bus. Had lots of fun on this one. The wood is birch dyed with yellow turmeric spice. Setting all the windows took hours. Then I dropped it and had to start all over again.
Inside all the seats are made from aromatic cedar and completed with hand rails and driver's seats and controls. The other side has a flip out stop sign."

"Intarsia.
3Teady Bears. The picture doesn't show the true colors of
the wood used.
- Several shades of Cedar as well as Maple and Walnut T
This was my first attempt at Intarsia."

"Circus Toy Wagon. This was made for my niece for her birthday several years back. Made from Pine and a few paint on designs and lots of round wooden plugs. This makes a great toy box and can be pulled around to each room."

"Wooden Watch in a box Made several of these for gifts, some on a pedestal and this one in a box. Expansion bracelet was made from maple and walnut To hold it expanded I used a maple block. The box was also made from Walnut and Maple with red felt and a brass chain to hold it up."
